EXCELLERAT at HiPEAC 2025

Workshop Poster

EXCELLERAT played a key role at the 2025 High Performance, Edge, and Cloud Computing (HiPEAC) conference, held at the Palau de Congressos in Barcelona, Spain last January. As a leading event that brings together experts in computing systems, HiPEAC provided an excellent platform for EXCELLERAT to present its contributions to advancing High Performance Computing (HPC) applications for engineering.

As part of its engagement, EXCELLERAT co-organised two workshops focused on how EuroHPC Centres of Excellence are addressing the challenges of exascale computing. These workshops, held on the first and third days of the conference, featured panel discussions and technical presentations covering key topics such as streaming scientific applications, mixed-precision computing, co-design, and visualization tools. Experts from various projects, including representatives from all Centres of Excellence (CoEs) and relevant EuroHPC initiatives, participated in these sessions.

Additionally, the workshops promoted diversity and inclusion by featuring a broad lineup of speakers, including many from underrepresented groups and early-career researchers. By amplifying a wide range of perspectives, the sessions encouraged fresh ideas and fostered greater equity within the HPC community.

EXCELLERAT latest results were presented by Michael Wagner from project partner German Aerospace Center (DLR). In his talk, “Preparing the CODA CFD Software for Extreme Scale,” Wagner outlined the project advancements in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for exascale computing. His presentation was followed by a lively Q&A session, highlighting the relevance of EXCELLERAT work and its impact on other CoEs.

Furthermore, the EXCELLERAT project poster was showcased during the European projects poster session. Many attendees engaged in discussions with representatives from E4 Computer Engineering, an EXCELLERAT partner, who presented the poster and provided insights into the project progress.

With its strong presence at HiPEAC 2025, EXCELLERAT continues to demonstrate its leadership in HPC for engineering, fostering collaboration and driving innovation within the European research community.
