EXCELLERAT Presents Advancements in Distributed Data-Parallel Visualization at ICPP '24

The 53rd International Conference on Parallel Processing (ICPP) took place in Gotland, Sweden, from August 12-15, 2024, bringing together leading minds in parallel computing. As one of the oldest and most prestigious conferences in the field, ICPP serves as a key platform for presenting cutting-edge research and innovations in parallel and distributed computing.

This year, EXCELLERAT contributed to the conference. On August 14, Dennis Grieger delivered a presentation titled “EXCELLERAT’s Breakthrough: Advancing Distributed Data-Parallel Visualization.” Grieger’s talk was part of the Special Track on EU Projects and highlighted the strides EXCELLERAT has made in the development of Vistle, an advanced tool for interactive visualization and data analysis.

Vistle, designed to handle large-scale simulation datasets, is a scalable solution that excels in distributed computing environments. A major focus of EXCELLERAT’s recent work has been on enhancing remote rendering and in situ visualization capabilities—crucial for the exascale analysis of simulation data. These advancements aim to improve how engineers and scientists work with complex data, enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of real-time visualization for large datasets.

ICPP ’24 once again proved to be a vital forum for showcasing innovations that will shape the future of parallel computing. EXCELLERAT’s contributions, as presented by Dennis Grieger, highlight the role of collaborative research and
development in advancing engineering applications.
